Custom Decorated Freight Cars
(HO Scale) Special Projects Page
History:
The EMMRC has been
producing custom decorated freight cars and other special projects for
over 15 years. Our new clubhouse is over 90% funded by these
projects.
Other items we have produced include a BAR coffee mug, several decal
sets
for truck trailers, our kitbashed BAR wood chip cars, short runs (50)
of
CPR chip cars and Sobin 29' tank cars, and our newest venture, Lumber
Loads.
Our latest car, the Bangor & Aroostook 40' Merchandise service box
car is our 54th car. We
hope to keep offering quality freight cars for the next few years, at
least.
Definitions:
1. Prototype. A freight car owned by a real railroad or industry
2. Prototype-Speculative. A freight car modeled after a
real railroad
or
industry using their accepted practices and actual prototype data but
not actually owned by the railroad or industry.
3. Prototype-Freelance. A freight car modeled using
accepted
practice
and styles of a prototype railroad but for a fictional railroad or
industry.
i.e. Allen McClellan's V&O or our own KVR (Katahdin
Valley)
Mission Statement:
The EMMRC, Inc. Pledges the following to our faithful customers:
1. We will not re-issue a car project after being sold out to
preserve
its collector value.
2. We will always strive to accurately reproduce all "Prototype"
cars within the
constraints of available car bodies and available research data
3. Prototype-Speculative and Freelance cars will always be
labeled
as such.
4. We try to ship all orders within 10 days of receipt. (usually
5 days)
5. We use printers with a proven track record, and the highest
quality.
6. When we make a mistake (not often) we will work with you to
make
sure that are satisfied or receive your money back.

goal, we depend on fellow modelers for our clubs survival !

PROTOTYPE SPECULATIVE The first custom decorated car we did over 15 years ago
was a prototype car of Keyes Fiber's 40' pulp box car. It sold out immediately and was eventually copied by another custom printer. Our next car is a "what if"
project. What if Maine Central never sold out to Guilford and Keyes still transported pulp to its Fairfield plant in box cars? The MAINE CENTRAL / KEYES
car is the result. This car is being done for us by Athearn on their 50' Railbox shell. It is MEC yellow with Pine Green doors and graphics. There is a total of
